How The Environment Surrounding Us Affects Our Thinking

The environment surrounding us affects our thinking, decision-making skills, health, and even our future.

Due to Our surroundings and events happening near us, we need to adjust or even ignore many things so we can have good thoughts and optimal performance to achieve our goals. There is a famous saying that When your room is clean and uncluttered, you have no choice but to examine your internal state. You can see issues you have been dodging and are required to deal with them. From the moment you start tidying, you will be forced to reset your life. As a consequence, your life will begin to change. Our surroundings and environment serves as a reflection of an individual’s current thoughts and later on the reflector of his future. The environment you prefer to see, experience, and live by has a significant influence on drawing you to the life you want. If you’re going to upgrade your life, you will start by improving your environment. An environment is not just physical things such as your room, or your workplace. The atmosphere is everything you interact with externally. Such as:

  • the people you feel comfortable with
  • co-workers or family member
  • social media that interest you or the person you take inspiration from
  • Seasons you watch, the information you read
  • your habits
  • nutrition
  • physical activities
  • thought pattern

These environments bring you to the level of the person you want to become and help you achieve your goals.

Busy is not always equivalent to being productive

Most people believe that outstanding achievements start from inside factors. But the argument stands that just because you’re doing a lot more doesn’t mean you’re getting. Movement should not be confused with progress. Diligence on a mistaken opportunity would not always measure to success. Busy is not always equivalent to being productive. The just do it” reasoning without a definite goal, and concrete preparation is problematic. If we will study people with the world’s most significant accomplishments, one of the key traits that contribute to their wins is not just their mental strength. It’s more than we might think. One might easily conclude that what contributes to their success is the kind of environment they set for themselves every day. What makes them a victor is having an impact that doesn’t only involve the mind, its the environment. The surroundings will either push you or pull you towards your goal. Surroundings play a significant role for to have focus and to have what they call single-mindedness.

You just get the vibes of your surroundings and it rubs off on you. – Gordon Lightfoot

How surroundings affect us:

Many psychological experiments show that bad stress results in a pessimistic attitude or even depression. Happy people, in contrast, tend to make an optimal decision and a positive outlook in life. This is whin order to achieve a particular goal we want in life; we have to choose what type of environment we will have, deliberately. Bad atmosphere leads to anxiety and bad decision making. Even micro-decisions, if compound over time, can play huge effects on big things in life. Pleasant environment leads to positive mood and excellent decision-making skills, a critical trait that will help you with achieving bigger goals you set for yourself. We can see a great man’s prediction who will remain constant in his everyday environment and routine.  We should not choose an environment that will delay our success. Practice responding NO to influences that destabilize our positive attitude.
